about the artist....
A Wisconsin native, Jeanne is a third generation artist. She sold her first work at the age of 14 and has continued to create since that time.
Jeanne uses a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylics, oils and collage. Her subject matter reflects our changing urban and rural landscapes, with power lines, cable bridges, telephone poles and other infrastructures as a prime focus. She balances her practice with paintings of nature as homage to her "up-north" childhood. Her color choices are vivid and striking, infusing her work with life.
According to the artist, watercolor “is fascinating because of its many facets and often-unpredictable nature which requires moment-to-moment creativity. Whatever the medium, I use brilliant pigments, and paint with discipline, abandon, spontaneity and precision, depending on my feelings and surroundings. There is nothing timid about my palette, and I enjoy taking risks.”
Nikolai Olivieri has a degree in Fine Art and Spanish from Carroll University and a Masters in Teaching from Cardinal Stritch University. She has exhibited in galleries locally and nationally, done many juried exhibitions and has work in both private and corporate collections.
